Helping cities implement a positive policy towards companion animals. Collaboration with the French Ministry of Education to introduce pets in schools. Pet Partners Program®, in which volunteers and their animals receive training and screening to provide animal-assisted therapy and activities. Publication of Anthrozoös, a refereed scientific journal and Interactions, a magazine for pet owners and people who care about the human-animal bond.

• Production of a travelling exhibit on responsible pet ownership.



• Development and production of the parlour game Dogamy, designed to teach about dogs and their care.



• Blind persons with and without guide dogs; research on quality of life.



• The role of pets as therapists.



• Sponsorship of a training seminar and production of a directory of companion animal visitation programs.



• In cooperation with the Austrian Ministry of Education, production of an annual education program on companion animals including a video, teacher ads and pupil leaflets.



• Organization of international conferences every three years on human-animal interactions.



• Research on the effects of a dog visitation program in homes for the elderly and human-cat relations.



• Publication of the reference resource Pets, Health, and Quality of Life for Older People.
